Eye Care for Kids provides vision screening at schools and referrals for free exams & glasses for low-income students

40,000 free glasses and counting...

Currently 20,000+ children in our community, seeing the front of the classroom or reading a book is a daily struggle.  The key to better learning is often as simple as a pair of glasses.  Eye Care for Kids provides free vision exams and glasses to low-income children who would not otherwise be able to afford it.

 October 3 was Eye Care for Kids Day!

Councilman Mike Knox and Mayor Syvester Turner presented Founder Dr. Irv Wishnow and President Julie Caggiano with a proclamation honoring the 20th anniversary of this community program that screens vision and helps kids receive free eye exams and glasses from their nighborhood doctor.

Funds raised help provide free vision care to low-income children throughout Greater Houston.
