To schedule a vision screening for your school or group, contact us at 713-728-5437 or irenia@eyecareforkids.org

All screenings are provided by employees who are certified by the Texas Department of State Health Services. Because of high volume, screening services are provided in the following order of priorities:

•   Schools where no nurse is employed, such as charter schools

•   Schools where vision screening services will expedite the process in order for the Mobile Eye Institute to make a visit since it is only able to assist schools after students have been screened and qualified

•   Community Health Fairs

•   Schools where nurses need assistance (Eye Care for Kids' staff permitting)

Since 1998, Eye Care for Kids, a non-profit organization has provided free eye exams and glasses for more than 35,000 students in grades Pre-K through 12th grade. We work with school nurses from 56 school districts to serve eight counties.  Since 2009, this help was expanded to provide free vision screenings at schools and community events.  Since then Eye Care for Kids has helped to screen vision and provide vision care referrals to 75,000 children.
